How can MMC keep my workplace OSHA-compliant?
We align your medical surveillance programs with specific OSHA standards, such as 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZMAT) and 29 CFR 1910.134 (Respiratory Protection).
MMC manages the mandatory record-keeping, including medical clearances and "fit-for-duty" certifications, which are essential for your OSHA 300 Log and annual safety audits.
Are medical records kept on-site or managed by MMC?
MMC acts as the custodian of all medical records. We maintain them in a secure, HIPAA-compliant Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Employers receive a "Work Status" or "Medical Examiner's Certificate," while the confidential clinical details remain protected and accessible only to authorized medical personnel and the employee.
What are the responsibilities of a TPA in drug testing?
As your TPA, MMC acts as the liaison between your company, the collection site, and the MRO. We manage the random selection pools, ensure all labs are SAMHSA-certified, and report required data to the FMCSA Clearinghouse to keep your company in full federal compliance.
What happens if an employee refuses a drug or alcohol test?
Under most federal regulations, a refusal to test is legally equivalent to a positive result. If this occurs, our medical team documents the refusal, and the employer is immediately notified. The employee must be removed from "safety-sensitive" duties until they complete the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) return-to-duty process.
Can MMC provide medical surveillance for specific hazardous exposures?
Yes! We offer biological monitoring for employees exposed to:
- Lead
- Silica
- Asbestos
- Other toxic substances
Our mobile units are equipped to perform on-site blood draws and specialized testing to meet OSHA's medical surveillance requirements, all without requiring employees to leave the job site.
Who is responsible for providing medical supplies and biohazard disposal?
MMC is a full-service provider. When we deploy a mobile medical unit or an on-site professional, we provide all clinical supplies, medication, and cold-chain storage. We also handle the proper disposal of all medical biohazards in accordance with local and federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, removing that liability from your facility.
All of Mobile Medical's services are designed to save you money by meeting insurance requirements. Owner Controlled Insurance Programs are complex and may include onsite medical requirements; however, you can benefit from the cost-saving opportunities and superior risk management that occupational medical services provide.
By partnering with an on-site occupational health provider, you can lower your insurance rates and increase productivity, leading to more successful projects.
