The first full week of March is recognized nationally as Women in Construction Week (WIC Week).
MMC is a certified Women's Business Enterprise that supports Women in Construction Week's mission of highlighting women as an important aspect of the construction industry, raising awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry, and emphasizing the growing role of women in the industry. According to the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics there was 17.6% increase of women working in construction between 2017-2018, the highest in 20 years. Women in Construction Week is hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction, and the theme for 2022 is "Envision Equality" which is a focus on "raising awareness of opportunities for women to enjoy a wide range of roles in the construction industry, from tradeswomen to project managers to administrative positions and even business ownership." according to the WIC Week website.
